Dr. Aaron Wildung

Education & Experience
It was while working as a dental assistant after high school and throughout his college years that Dr. Aaron Wildung’s passion for dentistry developed. He earned his doctorate at Virginia Commonwealth University and has practiced dentistry since 2015.

With kindness, diligence, and a patient-centric approach, he commits himself to making patients feel seen, heard, and valued with his gentle chairside manner, listening skills, and devotion to their care. Away From The Office
Dr. Wildung is a loving husband and a devoted father. He loves spending his free time with his family and enjoys playing racquetball or bowling when his schedule allows it.

Tyler A. Fix

DMD, MA

Education and Experience:
As a born and raised Phoenician, Dr. Fix is honored to care for this community. He earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of Arizona, his Masters degree from Midwestern University-AZ, and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University-AZ. He worked in private practice for nearly six years from 2017-2023 in beautiful Bend, Oregon, before moving back to the Central Phoenix area.

Practice Philosophy:
Dr. Fix has a true passion for patient care. His goal is to always make you feel comfortable, informed, supported, and seen. Dr. Fix provides comprehensive dental care to the Family Dental Phoenix patient base, with particular expertise and training in root canal treatments, cosmetic enhancements, porcelain restorations, and full mouth rehabilitation. He is thrilled to meet you and truly change your perception of your experience at the dentist.

Away from the Office:
Outside of healthcare, Dr. Fix loves to play competitive tennis, trail-run, hike, travel, dine, cook, and learn more about wine. He also values spending time with his partner, friends, and family.

Dr. Stephen Folson

DDS, MS, PC

Education & Experience
Dr. Folson received his DDS at Loyola University of Chicago in 1979. He subsequently completed a VA General Practice Residency with the University if Michigan. Thereafter, Steve returned to Loyola for a two-year Residency in Periodontics and received a Masters Degree and Certificate of Specialty. In 1982, Dr. Folson started a private practice Limited to Periodontics in Peoria-Sun City, AZ. In 1988, Steve completed the rigorous examination process to become Board Certified with the American Board oaf Periodontology. After 38 years in private practice, Steve transitioned to independent contracting in 2020. He was honored to join Dr. Wildung's practice in September 2024. At Family Dental Phoenix, Dr. Folson collaborates closely with Dr. Wildung. Together, they strive to help patients maintain their natural dentition and achieve a beautiful and healthy smile.

Practice Philosophy

Dr. Folson has surgically placed dental implants since 1991. At Family Dental Phoenix, he collaborates with Dr. Wildung's registered dental hygienists to ensure our patients can maintain their teeth, dental implants and lasting smiles.
Extraction of hopeless teeth and immediate implant placement with bone graft and barrier membrane. 4 months later, the implant is cosmetically restored by Dr. Wildung to enhance the patient's smile.
Clinical surgical crown (tooth) lengthening enabling the tooth to be maintained and not extracted.
Gingival (gum) grafting to restore lost gum tissue from receding gums and, if feasible, cover exposed roots with donor gum tissue. Dental implants are especially prone to gum recession which can lead to bone loss and exposure of titanium threads. Gum grafting by Dr. Stephen A. Folson, our Board Certified Periodontist, can prevent implant failure, if treated sooner than later.
Pocket reduction surgery to treat moderate to severe bone loss on teeth (periodontitis) and implants (peri-implantitis) in conjunction with optimal oral hygiene.
Evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of gingival (gum tissue) lesions cause by trauma or disease. If indicated, oral biopsy will be taken and submitted to the renowned Oral Pathology Lab at the University of Florida.

Away From The Office
Dr. Folson and his wife of 45 years, Gretchen, are from Grand Forks, North Dakota. They were high school classmates of Norweigen heritage. They have a special needs adult daughter, Berit. Son, Paul, and daughter in law, Tamar, reside in California. Steve and Gretchen enjoy cruises, gardening, going to movies, and their wire fox terrier, Finnegan.

Dental Office Manager

With 23 years of experience in dentistry, I’m proud to serve as a Dental Office Manager and help create a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. I got into dentistry because I wanted to change the way people feel about going to the dentist—making each visit feel comfortable, welcoming, and stress-free. I believe in being honest, building trust, and helping each patient achieve the healthy, beautiful smile they deserve. Outside of the office, my family is my everything, and I enjoy diamond painting, shopping, and, of course, a good cup of coffee!

Claudia

Lead Dental Assistant

With over 10 years of experience, Claudia is passionate about helping patients feel calm, comfortable, and safe in the dental chair. She loves educating patients and helping them better understand their dental health and the importance of great oral care. When she’s not at the office, Claudia enjoys spending time with her family and going to the movies. We’re so lucky to have her as part of our team!

Mayra

Dental Assistant

Mayra has been a Certified Dental Assistant since 2012. Her main goal is to make every patient feel comfortable and cared for throughout their dental experience. She loves helping patients understand their dental needs and feel confident about their oral health. When she’s not working, Mayra enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies.

Kearsten

RDH

Kearsten has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 13 years and has a true passion for preventative oral care. She is dedicated to providing excellent care while making every patient feel comfortable and at ease in her chair. Kearsten believes that creating a positive dental experience is an important part of helping patients maintain a healthy smile for life. Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband, son, and their dog. She loves spending time with her family and making memories together in the great outdoors.

My name is Eddie G Martinez, I graduated from El Paso Community college as a registered dental hygienist in 2021. I have practiced in Texas and Arizona for over 5 years in both public and private practices.The reason I gained interest in dentistry is because I myself did not have the most confident smile nor the best oral health literacy growing up. Now I am passionate in helping those who struggled like I once did and confident in aiding individuals with their oral health needs and concerns. Away from the office I value time with friends and family when time allows. I also enjoy reading, exercising/tennis, live performances like music and comedy shows, and boxing.
